Personal website—original graphics & photos; HTML/CSS & Movable Type coding
This site acts as my online sketchbook: I use it to document photography, small bits of writing, and a reading log. The different needs of each of these sections had always resulted in different designs for each, especially as I wasn’t necessarily maintaining each section concurrently. Bringing together the image- and word-focused sections led to having two versions of the header, while all pages feature the same footer design. Other elements that keep the site consistent include one set of text formatting styles for the entire site, all maintaining a consistent baseline grid throughout, with only a few section-specific changes. The footer operates on its own baseline grid to increase the legibility of the smaller text.
